This is a bold statement, yet so true! When you don't exercise, there is a greater chance of developing hypertension, type 2 Diabetes, breast cancer + colon cancer. While this may sound like good information, who thinks of this as a motivation when it's snowing outside and all you want to do is stay warm in bed? Well... me of course! Anyone else do this too? You know that you need to get moving, but the circumstances around just don't push you hard enough to actually get your feet out the door to MOVE? This past Friday was exactly that. There was a new snowfall in our driveway and my whole family knew we needed to shovel it, but that wasn't convincing enough for me to WANT to get out in the cold and do the job. It was for sure a mental struggle, but I told myself that I would feel warm once I got moving. Sure enough, by the time my family and I had finished the job that we made so much fun from (I mean, who can't have fun in the snow without a little bit of snowballs + sledding?) I was so hot and my heart + body was so thankful for the movement in the fresh air!β β Here's some tips to get moving so that it's less of a chore & more of a joy:
β β And guess what, if increasing your exercise by 25% seems like moving a mountain for you, then focus on changing only 1%. And be sure to bring me along on your journey so that I can cheer you on every 1% that you succeed! β Till next time π β |
